If you like to browse, search, research, invest, snoop, compare - anything involving residential real estate (I DO!)…These websites below are my picks for the current 6 best real estate websites, in no particular order. Am I missing any??
1. Redfin - Redfin is easily my favorite real estate website mostly because their business model is so intriguing and their site is so slick and packed with features. (see website for details on that) Great for research + buying/selling online, but they serve a very limited amount of markets.
2. Zillow - Handy for checking sales prices of real estate and getting price estimates, but use caution as not all “zestimates” are accurate. Rolling out lots of new features too.
3. FrontDoor - Good place to research/browse real estate for sale nationwide. Listings seem to be heavily sponsored but still a handy website.
4. Trulia - Cool website to search for real estate with great mapping features including street-level views. (As far as I know this is the first real estate website to integrate Google street level views.)
5. ZipRealty - Also good for buying/selling online, and serves more markets than Redfin. Not an easy place for quick browsing, since you need to sign-up/login for an account first.
6. HotPads - A new site with some interesting foreclosure mash-ups and buy vs rent analysis.
So there you have it! Those are my favorites…check ‘em out.
And, as a side-note, my favorite place to do commercial real estate research is LoopNet. (although I don’t know much about it, still very interesting to look)

Matt, LoopNet is sweet, I agree - just wish you could do more without registering.

You should try Commercial IQ/ if you don’t like LoopNet.
