Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach

July 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

Tonight I went to Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach for the second year in a row, and once again I was very impressed. (thank you Sarina) Not only is this a great excuse to visit one of the nicest beach towns in California (I recommend sipping a mojito overlooking the ocean before the show/festival)…Pageant of the Masters is a truly unique experience that is hard to describe until you see it for yourself.

I was a skeptic before I saw it for the first time last year, because it sounded a bit boring to be honest…but it’s totally not. It’s cool stuff. :) If you can make it next year, be sure and buy tickets right when they go on sale. (the good seats go quick) Below is the description from their website…

Each night during the summer season at 8:30 the Festival of Arts presents its most famous attraction, the Pageant of the Masters.

What is it?

Ninety minutes of “living pictures” - incredibly faithful art re-creations of classical and contemporary works with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces. An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant as the best presentation of its kind.
