A recent Financial Times article points out that online advertising is expected to grow strongly, even if a U.S. economic downturn is negative for the advertising industry as a whole. Interesting from the FT article was this fact:
Online is the fastest-growing advertising sector, and could reach over $20bn this year, just over 7 per cent of the total $285bn US advertising market.
What’s surprising to me is that online advertising has not even broke into the double-digits as a percentage of the US advertising market. The next several years should be fun.
